Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver" (11 Corinthians 9:6-7). </div> <bR> <div> Genesis 28:22            Matthew 23:23 </div> <div> Exodus 36:6                Luke 11:42 </div> <div> Leviticus 27:30           *  Luke 16:10-12 </div> <div> Numbers 18:21           Romans 12:8 </div> <div> Deuteronomy 14:22    *  I Corinthians 9:7-14 </div> <div> Nehemiah 10:38         11 Corinthians 8:7-15 </div> <div> • Malachi 3:8-12         *  I Timothy 5:17-18 </div> <div> • Matthew 6:1-4 </div> <div> <B>Tithe:</b></div> <div> A.     Tithing means giving "ten" percent of your gross income for the support of the ministry.</div> <div> B.     In God's design, His desire is for the ministry to dedicate their lives to the work of the church.</div> <div> C.     God does not want his pastors (priest) to work in secular jobs but to dedicate their lives to the ministry.</div> <div> D.     The tithe is for the support of the ministry while offerings are to support the "church" (building, facilities, utilities, repairs, maintenance, etc..)</div> <bR> <bR> <div> <I><B><U>When a person fails to give his tithe, the Bible requires interest be paid as well. </U></b></I></div> <div> <B>Le.27:31 And if a man will at all redeem ought of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof.</b> </div> <div> Le.22:14 And if a man eat of the holy thing unwittingly, then he shall put the fifth part thereof unto it, and shall give it unto the priest with the holy thing.</div> <div> A.     This ought to help us understand the importance of  "tithing".</div> <div> B.     God is very serious about the "first part" belonging to Him.</div> <bR> <div> <B><U>When you tithe - the Lord blesses you.</U></b></div> <bR> <div> A.     "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again" (Luke 6:38). </div> <div> B.     As Christians, we cannot ignore the direct relationship between obedience and blessing. </div> <bR> <bR> <bR> <div> <B>Integrity in Finances </b></div> <bR> <div> "Thou shalt not steal.... Thou shalt not covet" (Exodus 20:15, 17 </div> <div>  </div> <div> "If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury" (Exodus 22:25). </div> <bR> <div>      A. If we lend to another Christian, we cannot charge (usery) interest.</div> <div> "He that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes ... he shall dwell on high" (Isaiah 33:15-16). </div> <div> "Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away" (Matthew 5:42). </div> <div> "If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?" (Luke 16:11-12). </div> <div> "Provide things honest in the sight of all men" (Romans 12:17). </div> <bR> <bR> <bR> <bR> <bR> <bR> <div> "Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom.... Owe no man any thing" (Romans 13:7-8). </div> <div>      A. We should pay the proper tax.</div> <div> "Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.... Nor extortioners shall inherit the kingdom of God" (I Corinthians 6:8, 10). </div> <div> "Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth" (Ephesians 4:28)</div> <div> A.     If you don't work, you should not eat.  "If any would not work, neither should he eat" (11 Thessalonians 3:10). </div> <bR> <div> "For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruc- tion and perdition.
